I spent a lot of time in the snow over the weekend and this jacket did not disappoint. First of all its stylish and cute, the fabric is silky soft and kept me perfectly warm and dry. I only had to wear a light sweater underneath, no problems.

I don’t care for this ski jacket. I’m being a tad kinder in my star rating because my least favorite aspect (the look in person) is a preference, but the 3 stars rating is the max I can give this because for a ski jacket it’s missing key components. Yes, there is insulation in this jacket, but it’s not enough for the range of temperatures you experience on the slopes. I could NOT imagine attempting to wear this on a lift where the temperatures are even lower than the slopes. It doesn’t have the internal support and features I expect for jackets made for ski and snow. This is a decent cold weather jacket, but not for temps sub ~20*. It also claims to be waterproof, but I’d say it’s water resistant. The seams and zipper and pockets don’t have the laminated protection which make them weak points. My least favorite part are the white plastic buttons that make an okay style look super cheap in person. I’ll keep this around as a backup for the back door to let the dog potty, but in no way would I bring this to go skiing, ice skating, nor playing in the snow.

I love this women’s waterproof ski jacket. Blue is my favorite color, especially royal blue. I was reluctant to order this lovely jacket because it’s polyester, but it’s not as scratchy like sandpaper like I thought. I will wear my cotton hoody underneath it, so, it will feel more comfortable. It fits me very well. I’m tiny petite and I wasn’t sure if it would fit, but it fits me just fine. I look forward to wearing it on a cold and rainy day. It’s wonderful to have a ski jacket, especially because I had one in my teens and I miss it, so, this jacket makes up for it. I highly recommend it for its tremendous value. It’s money well spent.

I ordered this in the hope that it would work to replace my nearly 20-year-old ski jacket, which is getting rather thin in the lining; since my partner’s hoping that his next industrial construction project will be in Nebraska, and that project is expected to run for a couple of years, it’s getting imperative that I find that replacement fairly soon.

And this one has all the features that would make it a good choice in Minnesota where I used to live–a deep hood with drawstring, straps at the wrists to seal out snow and wind, a drawstring at the bottom hem, a zipper guard at the funnel collar so icy metal doesn’t cause frostbite, and a double-flap velcro cover over the zipper itself to block wind and snow from getting in between the teeth of the zipper. It’s reasonably waterproof and windproof, which again is a plus for colder winters and for days on the slopes (or snowball fights with the kids/grandkids).

The insulation could be a little thicker, though; I don’t think this will work below about 10F unless you’re really being active–not a big deal as long as you know that’s pretty much the limitation. But the real dealbreaker of it for me is that it’s cut just an inch too small through the biceps and binds up on my arms easily, meaning I can only wear this with 1-2 light layers, which eliminates the option of simply wearing a fleece running jacket under this for those days when a polar vortex hits the plains and I have to go out anyway. That gets a star deduction from me; that said, if you don’t have the stocky German peasant build I inherited, so your arms aren’t as thick, this may still work for you.

Nice jacket, not for really cold winters though. Im unsure of the water resistant yet. Jacket is a little on the big size so I would size down!
